ROCKWALL COUNTY CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY
Elected in November, 2008, Kenda Culpepper is the Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney. After graduating from SMU Law School in 1992, she was a prosecutor in the misdemeanor and felony trial divisions of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office where for a stretch of time she was known to have the highest conviction record of her colleagues. She later went into private practice and became a partner with the prestigious firm of Milner & Finn and then went on to start her own law firm with former criminal courts judge Jim Pruitt until 2008.
Kenda is the former chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Sections and was on the faculty of the Texas Trial College for a number of years until her election. She has been named by D Magazine as one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas”, by Texas Monthly as a “Texas Super Lawyer” and by Forbes SkyRadio as one of “America’s Most Influential Women”.
